- In October 2008, he defended his doctoral dissertation and received a teaching permit in the specialty of “Otolaryngology” at the University of Marburg, where he was appointed head of the department.
- In October 2008, he received an additional qualification in the specialty of “Plastic Surgery”.
- In March 2009, he received a qualification in the specialty of “Palliative Medicine” and completed a correspondence course in the specialty of “Hospital Business Administration”.
- In April 2010, he received the title of professor in the specialty of “Otolaryngology” at the Philipps University of Marburg.
